CLIC was a charity that we supported through the events we held at Robert The Bruce, Wetherspoons, Dumfries.
We had a friend working their when we first moved to Dumfries, and became friendly with the managers. We turned their beer festival's into charity events, and helped them to dress the venue up for themes.
Our first 'celebrity Merchandise Auction' in Dumfries was held here.
This is a copy of information, taken from the CLIC website:
CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading children's cancer charity. We provide the widest range of services and the highest number of care professionals to look after children and young people with cancer and their families. Our services are tailored to family-needs, using feedback from our service-users.
As advocates we give children, young people and their families a strong national voice, helping them to be heard and understood. Our research looks at ways of improving treatment and managing side-effects, to help patients and to improve quality of life for survivors.
CLIC Sargent was formed in 2005 after a successful merger between CLIC and Sargent Cancer Care for Children. Both had a rich history of excellent care and support and together we are stronger and more effective providing more for more children and young people with cancer and their families.
CLIC Sargent's Charity Registration Number is 1107328
