Brought to you by The Richmond Fellowship Scotland, in association with D&G NHS Scotland.
The Community Champion Awards 2006, was a pilot scheme, dreamed up and organised by Craig Bowron with help from William Johnston, to recognise 'good practice' within our community within customer service. Initially this was done in the area of mental health as a pilot, to recognise good practice without prejudice, and there were 2 categories for clients of the Richmond Fellowship to nominate.
1, An individual that has shown 'Outstanding achievement' in treating everybody as equal.
2, A business that has shown 'Outstanding Achievement' in treating all customers as equal, and without prejudice.
The Pilot Scheme was held at 'The Hong Kong Star' Dumfries, and was a sit down 3 course meal. It was attended Jean Tulloch (Lord Lieutenant of the County), Frank White, Regional Manager (TRFS), Sue Thomson, Deputy Locality Manager (TRFS), Andy Jack, Locality Manager (TRFS), William Johnston Service Manager (TRFS) along with other dignitary's from NHS Scotland, Breathing Space, SouthWest Sound Radio and many others.
Winners: Individual Award, Harry of Harrs Cars. Runner Up ; Jim Carson
Business Award, Locharr Inn, Runner Up; Fleshers Arms.
Local businesses, Tesco's, Costa Coffee and The Cavens Arms and other groups Breathing Space, Crime stoppers & Healthy Working Lives, made generous donations of goodies ranging from coffee vouchers to pens etc..., so that all that attended the day were given a bag of goodies to take away with them.
