Events Throughout 2004

2004 was our busiest year in Dumfries, holding events at The Cavens Arms & Jumpin Jaks Nightclub.

All our events at these 2 venues were in aid of Cash For Kids.

We started a weekly quiz at The Cavens, held each Sunday, It was £1 to enter, with 30 questions on general knowledge. After the quiz we had prize bingo, all money raised went to cash for kids, with 2 games of cash bingo after to balance it out.

The last Sunday of the month was charity night, with live music from singers and bands, all performing for free, and even a race night through to the summer.

At Jumpin Jaks, we continued our monthly events, the agreement we had was that we would supply the entertainment for the club, and they would charge an additional £1 on the door, that would go to Cash For Kids.

At ALL our events we held a raffle, with a minimum of 3 prizes, and at some an auction if donations were good.

We held our second celebrity merchandise auction at The Cairndale Hotel in aid of Cash For Kids, and The annual Christmas Toy appeal. We had a live band on stage and donations from celebrities all over the world, Elton John, Denzel Washington to name just 2, we also had donations from different football clubs.

The publicity for this event was beyond our wildest dreams, with double page spreads in both our local papers, and regular promotion on SouthWest sound radio.

On top of this, we got heavily involved with the Toy Appeal, and NCVS Christmas Fayre, from October through to December, read all about it under 'Annual Community Events'.
