NSPCC & Community events at Matalan
MATALAN supporting the NSPCC
Matalan has supported the NSPCC since before I started working for them as a Sales Manager in 2004.
Each year we have an NSPCC week, where all stores within the company put on events to raise as much money as we can.
In 2006, I organised for a local company to come into store and wax legs & chests of staff that volunteered for the cause.
Each staff member were challenged to get as many people to sponsor them as possible to raise money for the NSPCC.
We also had collection buckets around the store whilst the staff were having their legs or chest waxed, AT THE FRONT DOOR.
Another staff member also wore a clowns outfit, and went round with a collection bucket.
We raised just over £1040 in total, only 1 other store in the company raised more.
Each year, since 2004, Matalan has also been a collection point for the Annual Christmas Toy Appeal, this I have ran through my work due to our belief that EVERY child deserves to open at least ONE Christmas present on Christmas Day.
