Craig & I have done alot of charity work over the years, firstly with Body Positive Blackpool, and the Devonshire Rd Hospital, Psychiatric Day Ward during 2001 & 2002. Raising in excess of £24'000 for the 2 charities, live music and club nights for body positive and clairvoyant nights and summer fair for the hospital, a very busy 15 months.
Since September 2002 we initially started our charity work in Dumfries with CLIC, which is the Wetherspoons chosen charity.
We then were approached by Tommy Jardine, from South Westsound Radio, about raising money for Cash For Kids.
This then led us to supporting the NCVS annual Toy Appeal in 2004, and most recently in 2005 with LGBT Youth, Dumfries & Galloway & raising money for an individual girl called Eryn in 2006.
We still support Cash For Kids, LGBT Youth & The Annual Toy appeal, but space our time out more, rather than doing MONTHLY events which we did from 2001 through to 2004.
Throughout 2005, we took time out and did just a few events, this was to have a bit of a break, but also to save up for our Civil Partnership Ceremony in 2006.
Throughout 2006 we have so far put on 3 events with Miss Anita and Craigybaby, done an event for a young girl called Erin, who needed a special helmet for medical reasons, and through Craigs work, an award ceremony to highlight GOOD customer service within the community. We also had a World Aids Day event, and Miss Anita's Retirement party.
Now in 2007 we are planning some big events, with the return of our annual Celebrity Merchandise Auction.
As a general rule, WE cover ALL expenses for organising & putting on these charity events.
We believe that all monies raised for charity should go TO THE CHARITY.
This is why we support Cash For Kids so much, as all running costs for the charity are covered by sponsors, and NO money is removed for administration.
